Returning to work after maternity leave or extended career break

February 24, 2015 @ 9:30 am - 3:00 pm

| £110

What does the programme include?

  • Initial one to one conversation with each participant to establish hoped for outcomes, and to help you to get the most from the session – arranged at mutual convenience, either over coffee or over the phone.
  • Full day event (max. 5 participants)
  • A follow up one to one session (1hr – worth £60) with each participant, arranged at mutual convenience once you’ve had an opportunity to reflect on your own situation.

Is this for me?

This programme will be of real benefit to you if:

  • You’ve taken an extended career break and you’re looking to get back to work, but not sure what you want to do or how to get back ‘in the market’.
  • You’ve decided that your previous role does not appeal anymore and you’d like to explore other opportunities.
  • You’re not planning to return for a while, but you want to consider future options and make the most of your maternity leave / career break.

What will the sessions cover?

The first half of the day is about finding out more about yourself – what are your skills, interests and values that you want to incorporate into your new career? What are your real priorities?

The second part is where we will consolidate everything that you’ve learned about yourself and start to generate some ideas about what you might like to do next. This session is really interactive and the group environment is hugely beneficial to help you think of careers that you may never have envisaged. You’ll have time to research some of the most appealing ideas further (again, with lots of guidance and support) before your final session.

Once you’re ready (for some it might be the next week, others might need a couple of months), I’ll arrange to meet with you to have a one to one session focusing on your next steps. The content of this session is down to you – some like to do some focused action planning based on their future career goals, others may be looking to get some help with developing their CV or interview technique, some may want to brainstorm a new business idea. This session is about tying up any loose ends and ensuring that you are confident to continue your journey by yourself. This session is included in the cost of the programme.

Cost

£110. Including all session materials, refreshments, and ongoing phone or email support throughout the programme, plus the follow up 1hr meeting.
