Career Surgery – Introductory career consultations

sun in shape (2)Careers counselling (or career coaching or career guidance) is often something that is associated with school leavers or graduates, but it is becoming more widely used by many people to help them with issues or transitions at any stage of their career. The first step is making contact, and working out what your options might be and who might be the best person to work with going forward.

Typical situations where people might be looking for support might include:

  • You might be struggling to make things work in your current role and you’re looking for ways to make improvements…
  • Maybe your job doesn’t feel quite right, and you’re looking to explore other options…
  • Your role has been made redundant, and you are looking for support to move forward in your career…
  • You might be looking to go back to work after maternity leave or an extended career break and not sure where to start…
  • Your CV and online profile is a bit out of date (or non-existent) and you’d like someone to take a look at it…
  • You’ve got an interview coming up and you’d like some help to prepare…

As part of my practice, I always offer individuals a brief introductory consultation, totally free of charge or further obligation, to discuss your background and concerns in a bit more detail. I can then go through what your options might be for support if you decide you would like to continue with the process.

It’s a great opportunity to start to make some real changes for the coming year – and you should leave the session with an idea of next steps for you to look at independently, or with support from me if you think it would be beneficial.
